Internet Explorer 8 , Tips and Tricks for Web Browser

Internet Explorer 8 is the latest release in the browser area from the Microsoft. Internet Exporer 8 has many features that enable you to do virtually everything you needed straight from that. The new microsoft IE8 also has some hidden tips and tricks wih it and recently microsoft itself revealed the latest tips and tricks for the Internet Explorer 8.

1. Personalise the Title bar

By default title bar setting, screen's top most part will display the title of the webpage which followed by a Text. You can now change this to whatever you like, Eg: TechWorld IE8 – the best place to find latest tech updates." You can change this by ediiting the windows registry - first you should take a backup of your system first in case of a wrong entry, also make sure you close all Internet Explorer windows and follow the steps.

If you are using Windows XP, press Start -> Run and type "regedit" and hit "Enter" key. In cas of Windows Vista and Windows 7, Goto Start , there type "regedit" and then press "Enter" key.

After the Registry Editor opens press the + sign next to HKEY_ CURRENT_USER, then double click on Software > Microsoft > Internet Explorer > Main.

There you will find a long keyvalue on the right hand side and you have to right click in any whitespace in the right hand pane and to select 'New>String Value', save it as a Window Title. Then you will see a new null string coresponding to the new String Value, there you have to double-click the registry entry, type anything you like in Value Data box and press OK.

Close the Registry Editor and start IE8 and you should see the new magic in the title bar.

2. Maximize screen space

Other hidden feature offered by the new Internet Explorer 8 is the extendabile screen size. The menu bar in the IE is somewhat useful to the user but at the same time it takes some valuable space on your screen. Most of the people don't know how to remove that Menu bar and how to bring it back when needed?

It can be done by checking/Unchecking the menu bar option in the Options. For that select View > Toolbars > Menu Bar. You can also remove and bring back the Menu bar by simly pressing the 'Alt' key.

3. Faster Search

Search Engines will provide the appropriate results and recommendations to a particular query? This can be easily done from any page in the webbrowser simply by typing a question mark, followed by a space, followed by your search terms into the address box (where you would normally type the web address). Ensure that you don't press Return after typing the query in the address bar.

By doing the above step you will see a list of the most common searches, which may help you find what you were looking for.

4. Save paper and ink when printing

When a case comes like if you have to print a webpage and you don't need all the images and contents in that webpage then it will results in th wastage of your paper space and printer ink. The new Internet Explorer comes with a solution for this and you can use the developer tools to get rid of those problems. To activate the feature, press F12 on any web page and you'll see a new window open up.

Also try selecting View > Link Paths. You can see all of the links, and select them easily for copying to the clipboard.

5. Browse more easily on netbooks

If you are using a small netbook PC, then it will makes problems in viewing a webpage since the screen is a small one. But the problem can be solved by simply pressing the 'F11' key and here comes the new magic of IE8. It will make the page bigger and switches IE8 into full-screen mode, removing all trace of the browser and enables the user to view the web page in the entire screen.

You can use all the controls of the browser by simply moving mouse over the missing parts of the screen that are hidden. You also can go to the normal setting by again pressing the 'F11' key.
